I love 20th Century Music... ermm.. yea sure there's pop and rock and techno (err.. i dun like techno la.. but well.. its still 20th century music) and other stuff... but well.. have you ever listened to real classic 20th century music ? i got myself real hooked on this particular song... well... i did this composer for my Music Appreciation class for my school's elective module and guess what ? no one appreciated... heh... and they called it music APPRECIATION !! well.. its a conspiracy... hmm.. well.. let me introduce this song to you.. first and foremost... Einstien On The Beach - Phillip Glass well... the whole song is rather weird... well.. for one.. there are chantings (of numbers... err...) and nothing is sung... they are all spoken... cool eh ? well.. its actually for a play (a VERY long one at that... 6 or 7 hours total if i'm not wrong).. the part i like is only an excerpt i think... but well.. it kinda protrays literally Einstien sitting on a beach thinking... the chanting numbers chanted by women kinda like brings out the mind of Albert himself processing... well.. the chanters skip numbers too.. so it isnt just asscending numbers only yea.. he does think... and its like.. erm. how should i put it... its forever processing la... then the second introduction (theme) is this lady talking... actually.. asking questions and deductions... example (from the song) it could find wind for the sail boat...it could be a balloon... etc... well.. also depicts him thinking continuously... and mind you..its in stereo.. so only the left side is audible of this theme.... it is soon introduced into the right side too... the questioning 2nd theme also changes everytime.. they may sound similar but there are certain changes to it.. finally.. there's the emotional side of Einstien himself... the final theme is sorta announced by a man.. talking about 2 lovers (that probably Einstien sees when he was at the beach) sitting on a park bench and their conversations... :) i particularly like this part... its like... wow... Two lovers sat on a park bench. Their bodies touching each other. Holding hands in the moonlight. There was silence between them. So profound was their love for each other. They need no words to express it. So they sat there in silence on a park bench. With their bodies touching each other. Holding hands. Finally. She spoke "Do you love me John ?" she asked. "You know I Love you darling." He replied. "I Love you more than time can tell. You are the light of my life. You are the sun, moon and stars. You are my everything. Without you, I have no reason for being." Again, there was silence, as the two lovers sat on a park bench. Their bodies touching. In the moonlight. Once more she spoke "How much do you love me, John ?" He answered "How much do I love you ? Count the stars tn the sky. Measure the waters in the ocean with a teaspoon. Number the grains of sand in the seashore. shi shi says she wanna take all those music qualifications.. which reminded me.. WHEN THE BLOODY HELL AM I GOINGTO TAKE MINE !! sheesh.. i say since god knows when i wana go take ATCL le but looky here !? i have not even practiced or prepared or what the hell... arghh.. i need to have some time to really practice !!! ok.. so basically.. i GOT to start practicing whenever i have the chance.. ahah.. maybe get mike to intro me a pianist who can help me accompany.. ahah.. hopefully he/she doesnt charge alot.. :) or even better.. ask mike to help me.. hur hur hur... :) but paiseh.. coz he always regard me as a good player but i SUCK like fiak... kns... i wanna get that ATCL soooo bad.. :( grade 5 just doesnt cut it anymore... AND THE BLOODY GRADE 8 THEORY EXAM !! arghh... really fiaking shit... need to get a study buddy who will take grade 8 with me.. need it need it !!! and all these before NS... ahaha.. 2 only nia.. eh ! some people sec 3 already got ATCL piano leh ! wad abt me sia !! why before NS ? so i can squeeze my way through to Central band (i sureeee hope so.. ) and then sponge government's money to go for LTCL... hur hur hur... shhhhh... kns.. later i kena sue.. shhhh... hey !! self improvement ok !!! or even get the LTCL before i go into NS ?? lets see my calibre la... i've not been achieving much... why ?? ahaha.. i got too many outside commitments thats why... so.. i decided... after concert.. no more KSWS for me... not say that i've been fully active... eh.. i mean i am not even active in it la.. just helping out.. but well.. NONO... and i think i'm going to take leave from SP band... i wanna concentrate on my ATCL la.. so its only SWS and SWSyouth for now... :) so.. the 2 SP band prac days right ? one goes to ATCL practice.. alternate weeks with accompaniament maybe ? one goes to theory lessons... ok.. i got to get mr png's number form yong chiang and ask mr png about the theory classes for grade 8... and i need refreshment also.. so long never do.. ahaha.. kns !! bleah... so many "i got to" well.. all those certifications add up to what i wanna become.. a full time musci teacher !! yes.. the MOE kind.. not the instructor.. although its the second option.. :) no IT for me.. though i should really try for that Cisco Sercurity Certification.. (CSC) i think it's called... if i want somthing to fall back on.. better to fall back on with some higher qualifications right ? yea... so its FULL TIME MOE TEACHER !!! ahaha.. teach O level music is fun ok !! thanx to mr low who inspired me.. hur hur.. :D i think its real cool lor... and if they require me to teach another subject, i guess its english or maybe literature... erm... please.. god.. no maths !!!! (i know i'm from engineering school.. but doesnt mean my math will automatically be good.. ARGH) go NAFA for 4 years... ahaha... study again sia.. then if i actually go there and graduate.. guess how many diplomas and certifications i'll have ?? (that actually means sumthing.. not some kuching kuruck cert !) 1. ATCL Saxophone (assuming i pass..) 2. Singapore Polytechnic Diploma in Information Communication Technology 3. ABRSM (Associate Board Royal School of Music) Grade 8 Music Theory 4. Cisco Sercurity Certification 5. Diploma In Music (Teaching) by Nangyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) 6. Diploma In Teaching Ministry of Education (MOE) HUR HUR HUR !!! WANT SO MANY DIPLOMAS FOR WAD ?!?!?!?!?!?!?! i know that will be the reaction from many people... but as long as i'm happy... and upgrading can come later... this is the basic foundation lor !! come on !!! oh yea.. IF i choose the path of becoming a band/music instructor and not a teacher (well.. after the 3 year bond) then i'll have 1 more diploma !! 7. Diploma In Conducting by Nangyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) whahahaa SERIOUSLY... diplomas... ahaa.. i have a dream.............................. ahahah... bleah.. BUT now... back from that DREAM... i want to officially start on my practicing... STAT !! and i got to get the theory lessons going !!! 2 things need to be done ASAP... oh yea.. then there's school.. which i'm sure i am going to work hard this sem...erm.. and yea... i think its pretty alright.. for now.. :) ok.. think i shant be LOR SOR and repeat everything again la..
