what a grand sight. :)

after lunch, hongtae had to get to work, so we dropped me at some small mall at silom to meet pobe.. was supposed to check out the naraya shop for michelle for her bags...

while waiting, i walked around the place.. was deciding between these 3 cafes...
1. Starbucks
2. Aunt Anne's
3. Baskin Robbins..

didnt know what BR sells so dare not go in.. went AA's yesterday so decided to go starbucks.

right after i got my drink (caramel frappacino with coffee jelly... YUMM !!!), pobe poked me from behind. hahaa... he got himself a drink too and we sat down and chat.. he also passed me a copy of suthiwararam's concert DVD... WOOHOOO !!

see for yourself if its nicer than the ones in singapore. i can tell you.. YES they are nicer. :)

walking around silom... :) we were supposed to go Prattunam (platinum is the shopping mall..) but i said i wanna walk the streets first.. so we had about a 45 minute walk around silom... had this dumpling thingy with nuts, pork and sugar fillings.. sweet and salty. oh.. its eaten with this super small chilli padi.. small = extra spicy.. haha.. but i like it ! kind of refreshing ! :) aha.. :)

so off the platinum we go.. by cab.. was supposed to go by bus but we didnt know the bus number.

halfway through the cab ride, we decided to walk coz the place was like a stone's throw away BUT we were stuck in a traffic jam.. so we got off the cab and went there by foot. :)

guess who i saw at platinum ?? betcha wouldnt have guessed it.. LINGZ.. and gang.. ugggh... why.. why even my holiday also want to follow me.. blehhh...

so walked around there.. its basically like a clothings shopping mall... wanted to get my plain shirts there but decided it was a little too early into the whole trip.. we can always turn back no?

pobe told me about the people of thailand and the color yellow.. its very significant to them as it's a royal color... so basically, the people will wear this yellow shirt (with the royal logo) every monday to celebrate the king.. the people really love their king alot !! haha.. so i decided i should get one myself just to get into the spirit... hey.. its only 180 baht ! ahaa....

after platinum, i wanted to get the speakers for my brother.. pobe brought me to prantip (dont know how its spelled. hehe) its something like the sim lim of thailand.. its very cheap there !! but as compared to singapore, electronics are cheaper here (sg that is)

made a phone call to tum (tommy) about having dinner later in the evening... so we were scheduled to meet at siam paragon (again!) to walk around..

we had our dinner (not exactly la.. it was supposed to be a snack.. but we ordered quite abit and it became our dinner) on the top level of central mall...

then we headed to suan lum night bazaar for some shopping... finally got to go around and shop at the night market !!

They even allow you to test the Cds out ! and when you open them, they arent those kind where they have the stickers pasted on the disc.. they are like those u burned !!

you know, you can actually see suan lum from afar... how ? coz of this "landmark!"

the ferris wheel !! its 60 bhat for 3 rounds.. didnt get to take it though.. was too rushed.. though i went to suan lum 4 times.. :)

we had some coffee later at DoiTung... Tommy was too tired walking around.. :)

you know, DoiTung is a project by the royal family ? its like, they want to help the poor people so they bought over the land that grows coffee, macadamia nuts and stuff like that and allowed these people to work.. of course, they were treated well and well rewarded.. DoiTung, along with the Mai Fa Luang brand (Mai Fa Luang is the king's mother)

ok... that kinda ended my day two of bangkok... tired out from all the walking but it was great fun.. :)

anyway, started on a new book. finished tuesdays with morrie already. :) now starting another mitch albom book. heh ! :)

anyway.. haix.. maybe i ACT busy today. (hurhurhur)

Friday was another boring day at work... did video transfers and well... thats about it.. haha... did it for the entire day. haha... of course, at my own pace. :)

then had dinner in town... then went to meet desmond after that to chill... yea... was supposed to go taka to send the stuff BUT the place closes at 7 (i was there at 730.. bleh) so i didnt get to do my mailing. had to do it today ! haha...

then headed to heeren to meet desmond... walked around then went to cine.. lasted slacked at centrepoint's TCC (where alex the kid works !)

then at night, went to OSO... well. not too bad nor too interesting la..

was supposed to go for the exchange at whitley but i woke up at 2pm... haha... so slacked abit then headed to meet the guys for SWS chalet ! ahha...

the chalet wasnt too bad.. with ok food and fun moments. haha... sat around and chat and then the main people left leaving us, some of the youth members... well.. erm... yea. ended up feeling like another of OUR chalets. ahaha.. weird. haha..

checked out the next morning and then headed to get my stuff from lenon and went back home. dropped mumu and jolin too.. then slacked abit at home before going to band.

band was alright with a few minor slips.. but well... ok.. haha... :)

then headed to marina square for dinner. was SUPER hungry can ! didnt have anything for the entire day... only a bottle of 1.5 litre water. haaa...

wasnt so happening after. all.. haha...

ok.. i promised for a bangkok trip update. hehe... :) lets start with day 1...

so this was it.. finally get to get out of the country for a well deserved holiday ! really wanted to go bangkok for a really long time to visit friends and also get a bit of well.. you cna say culture shock. haha.. but anyhow, this day was it...

mum and dad were supposed to send me but only mum did... we were well.. kinda late. haha.. check in was supposed to be 2 hours before flight time.. but well... i was there 1 hour before. late but not too late. i was expecting "no queue" since i was firstly late and it was a weekday.. but NOOOOO... it was PACKED !! haha.. see ? as long as there is a promo, singaporeans are bound to be there.. ok.. im included.. so yea. haha.. bought breakfast and was expecting it to have in on the plane.. stuffed it in my bag. :P

so left mum at the departure gate... haha.. missing the people a bit already but well.. its only for 6 days !! haha... so took a stroll around duty free. nothing to buy so was just taking a walk.. was thinking if i should get another book but remembered i had "tuesdays with morrie" with me still. :)

Mr Ng called when i was inside the lounge area... woah. haha.. he told me about the huayi saxes and asked me to push them harder... i myself thing i should coz i would want to see huayi get that gold they really want. though they must really want it...

anyway, checked in the waiting area and sms-ed my friends..

then with a buzz, i offed my phone. there goes my connection with the peeps in singapore for awhile. heh..

the flight was SUPER boring ! ahah.. anyway, been awhile since i took a plane.. but well, i chose the aisle seat.. kinda a bad and good choice. since i get to walk around without saying coutless "excuse me's"... but i didnt walk around anyway.

so i spent the 2 and a half hours reading tuesdays with morrie, listening to music, sleeping (which really helped coz that took up around 1 hour of travelling time. hehe.) and looking around (like a sua kuu) in the plane and what the staff was doing and stuff like that.. and i couldnt eat my sandwhich breakfast coz they said "no outside food is allowed." argh.. shits...

when i arrived at the bkk airport (Suvarnabhumi airport) it was like.. erm.. haha... i didnt know what to do.. so i followed the other passengers out. haha.. im alone what! and im sua kuu.. so yea. haha.. so got my passport stamped and got my luggage collected. heh.. im finally here !!! :D

so as arranged, i looked out for hongtae.. but well.. no where to be seen.. sooo.. i walked up to locate starbucks.. also arranged..

but i didnt see him either... so i took a stroll (quite nervously actually) around the airport.. kinda like 3 times.. the same route. haha.. :) then i decided to sit near starbucks to have my sandwhich... just when i took it out, i saw hongtae.. he was looking around.. obviously looking around for me... so i packed my sandwhich again and went after him.. (he left hurriedly, thinking i was somewhere else) and boy does he walk fast. haha...

so we went to his car.. finally had a taste of bangkok weather. haa.. HOT but not exactly very humid. aha..

got my thai sim from him and then he sent me to check in my hostel. :)

my hostel is super cramp ! ahah... and the downstairs was under construction so it doesnt look like a residency at all... and its really by the road side... argh...

so anyway, after checking in, rang pobe up and told him ive arrived already. :)

hongtae had to attend to some things so he left me to pobe. :) pobe brought me around...

first stop.. siam paragon !

my basic instinct wasnt to take out my camera and snap so this whole trip, i only took around 50 plus pics. argh. haha.. i was kinda too baffled with all the things thats happening.. many times, i didnt believe i was in bangkok. haha..

siam paragon (yes they have a paragon too) is HUGE... it even has its own ocean world... something like out underwater world.. haha.. its really huge and grand. :) walked around there for abit.. and was chatting with pobe. :) then headed to siam discovery centre and then siam centre. they are all kinda linked so yea.

the propaganda shop is located there (siam discovery) and many more cute shops and quite a number of familliar brand names too.. :)

then headed for "central world".. another shopping centre.. it used to be the old world trade centre of thailand but they changed the name.. :) yet another huge shopping centre... :) after hours of walking, we decided to take a rest at aunt anne's... all of their aunt anne's have a seating area. so its like a mini cafe rather than a stand like ours. haha... so yea... we sat there for awhile.

shared a table with some locals too.. and they started a conversation with us. they were saying they just got back from singapore and stuff and were suggesting to pobe where to bring me. haha.. nice people. :)

so anyway, after a little bit of walking around, hongtae was already making his way here.. he mentioned that the traffic is a killer especially in peak hour time so he might be late..

when he arrived, he said he was hungry so we got down to Macs.. ahhaha.. my first impression was "har ? come all the way here for macs ? DUhhh... might as well stay at home.. haha.." but my mind immediately changed when he said "pork burger" ahaha..

there ! pork burger ! ahha.. well, no offence to the muslim readers... but its really yummmy.. hehe.. :)

anyway, after that, we walked somemore.. and then pobe left us to do some stuff at home... me and hongtae left too to drive around...

we decided to have dinner at china town.. :) had some teochew food.. then i realised that most of the food in thailand had to have some sort of sauce to go with it.. not a bad thing since different people have different tastes. :)

then we drove around somemore around town.. :) wanted to go to the night baazar but there wasnt any parking..

well. that was about it.. day 1 of bkk.. not as exciting coz not as many pics. heh.. sorry !!
